Citrus Kitchen - Diorama

Whew. time to kiss this project goodbye! Been a long while since I've modeles anything beyond some quick temporary models, so I wanted to stretch a bit with some realistic props. Inspiration for this diorama was a warmly lit south-French coutryside kitchen, here you can see the makings of lemon jam (actual recipe in the open book ;))! One lemon, wall damage decals and all herbs are from Quixel bridge though!

- Goal was to make something that was optimized for 3rd person exploration game, and texel density target was 10.24, hence a lot of the UVs have space for additional props for the kitchen set should those be needed.

- Lemons and their slices were photoscanned here in my kitchen using RealityScan, and then cleaned up (a lot, lighting conditions were far from ideal).

- Glass jars and wine bottle have been built modularily so, that they have their parts separated, and you can use different combination of parts (lid/no lid, label/no label etc). I was supposed to make a blueprint for it but I want to move on to the next project already :P

- Closed books all have the same UV-mapping, so you can use same textures with different book models for thickness variation. Open one can also use the same book textures, but open pages need a separate one

- Steam is a quick Niagara VFX

I learned a whole lot from this, and can already spot a lot of things that I could now do better and more optimally, but you have to let go at some point!
